UV-201a preamp test

First listening test with these beauties, it sounds really nice!

And here is the look inside for the curious ones who always ask me to provide more details about the construction. Here is a good ground wiring example. The preamp is dead quiet:

      1. I experienced something interesting with the new preamp. I found I had some 12-15V DC at the output. One channel experienced less DC like about 5-6V. That represents a 10 to 20uA leakage current. After troubleshooting I found out that the output capacitors (Mundorf Oil Gold – quite pricey) were leaking. Couldn’t detect it with the component tester. It only happened clearly when HT was applied. Likely I damaged them when I was soldering the tag board. I put a lot of heat I remember to try to solder multiple leads on a tag together quickly. I replaced them with other Mundorf I had (Silver Oil) and the preamp is working just fine!
